Dealing with Data in dplyr

This tutorial on R will cover the use of the dplyr package for cleaning and manipulating data. We will learn how to extract rows and columns that meet certain criteria, create new columns from existing data, join data frames, and get summary information. We will take messy data and get in into a format that can be used for statistical analysis (or visualization).

Getting Good at ggplot2

This tutorial on R will cover the use of the ggplot2 package for creating visualizations from data. We will learn the graphics of grammar, how to build visualizations (histograms, scatterplots, etc.) by specifying how they should look. We will take clean data and create visualizations that are on par with those in publications and on FiveThirtyEight.

*Important Note: For either of the tutorials: Be sure to have the latest version of R and R Studio installed, and bring some of your own data if you would like to try some of these techniques. If you have never programmed or used R before, please complete the free Introduction to R web tutorial from Data Camp.
